Celebrating differences at Elm School

Fourth-graders at Elm School rotated through seven stations Nov. 14 where they experienced what it's like for another person to live with learning challenges, autism or visual/hearing/motor impairments. Noor Atassi waits for her turn as Catherine Liu attempts to sort a basket of socks. The students were encouraged to use their sense of touch to match up the pairs of socks by feeling for different types of fabrics. At another station, Giuliana Gehlmann put on a pair of gloves and then had to accomplish several tasks such as stringing beads, maneuvering latches and trying to pick up poker chips.
