Lucia Langthorn Sutton, 89, of Burr Ridge died Aug. 26, 2019.

She was born in 1930 to Jacob and Katherine Langthorn.

Lucia was an English professor at the College of DuPage and retired after 20 years of dedication to her profession. She also devoted her time to the Ministry Board and Social Issues Committee at The Union Church of Hinsdale and the West Suburban Faith-Based Peace Coalition. She also served as president of the Oak Brook Library Association and member and treasurer of the Oak Brook Library Foundation.

Lucia was preceded in death by her brother, Jacob Stinman Langthorn III.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William R. Sutton; her children, William S. (Lynn) Sutton, Richard S. (Martha Stenstrup) Sutton and Katherine A. (partner, Mark Murphy) Sutton; her grandchildren, Justin and Jaime Sutton.

A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at The Union Church of Hinsdale 137 S. Garfield Ave., Hinsdale.
