DIDOMENICO NAMED BOARD CHAIRMAN

Greg DiDomenico, president of Community Memorial Foundation in Hinsdale, has been appointed board chairman of Forefront, the nation’s only statewide membership association for nonprofits, grantmakers, public agencies and advisors.

He has served on Forefront’s board of directors since 2017, most recently as treasurer.

“I am extremely honored to serve as Forefront’s newest board chair,” DiDomenico said. “The organization has a long history of excellent stewardship, and I’m proud to continue the board’s work of creating a vibrant social impact sector throughout Illinois.”

Forefront President and CEO Eric Weinheimer said the organization is delighted to have DiDomenico serving in this role.

“He is a great leader who truly understands and values the critical role that Forefront plays in creating an environment in which all nonprofits and foundations in Illinois can do their best work,” Weinheimer said.

HHS HELPS IN WAKE OF BARRY

Hinsdale Humane Society welcomed 25 cats and 18 dogs from Plaquemines Animal Welfare Society in New Orleans last month.

PAWS was relocating as many animals as possible in preparation for Tropical Storm Barry in the event the area flooded and hundreds of rescued animals would be brought to PAWS, causing them to be in need of extra room at the shelter.

In addition to the 43 animals from PAWS, HHS welcomed 10 cats from Louisiana SPCA. Of those animals, 20 cats and 5 dogs became residents of the Tuthill Family Pet Rescue & Resource Center, with the rest going to A.D.O.P.T. in Naperville. All the animals received vaccinations, including rabies vaccines, and medical evaluations. Three of the five dogs had heartworm and several of the cats went straight to our isolation kennels.

One of the dogs and six of the cats have been adopted.
