Hinsdale Village Board

Among other business Tuesday, trustees:

• supported a request from the Hinsdale Platform Tennis Association to name the HPTA hut at Katherine Legge Memorial Park in honor of Bill O’Brien.

“We really here to recognize a remarkable individual who has affected many, many families and individuals in this community over 30 years,” said Marty Brennan, HPTA president.

The item will be up for a final vote at the board’s Sept. 2 meeting.

• agreed to spend $28,255 for quality control and quality assurance testing at the parking deck project. SMC Material Testing of Arlington Heights was the lowest responsible bidder. Final approval is expected Sept. 2.

• discussed allowing Trustee Luke Stifflear and staff members to consider a potential intergovernmental agreement with Burr Ridge, Willowbrook and Darien providing for the possible acquisition of the Sterigenics property in Willowbrook

• awarded the design engineering services for the 2020 infrastructure project to HR Green Inc. in an amount not to exceed $141,870
