Bob "Bud" Tice Jr.

Bob "Bud" Tice, Jr., 73, of Springfield, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away July 19, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Bob was born in 1946 in New York City to Bobbie W. and Marilyn (Forgea) Tice. He graduated from Greenview High School in Illinois and earned his bachelor's degree and MBA from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity and also served in the Army Reserves.

He spent his accounting career working as a partner at Arthur Andersen in Chicago, while living in Hinsdale with his family. In retirement, he moved to Ashland in 1996 with his wife, Gaileh, and continued to provide private consulting work for several years before the couple moved to Springfield in 2017.

Bob loved riding his Harley, having made several cross-country trips, including a voyage to the Arctic Circle, and was an elder and bell choir member at Greenview United Church. He was a proud donor to the President's Council at University of Illinois, Alumni Association, Hinsdale Hospital and the Union Church of Hinsdale, among other charitable beneficiaries.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Linda Ewers Tice; his sister, Kit Tice; his brother, Jack Tice; his step-brother, Tim Myers; and his step-sister, Deborah Tice.

He is survived by his wife, Gaileh; his daughters, Cary Tice and Stacey (Todd) Van Vossen; his grandson, Jacob Van Vossen; his sister, Terri (John) Little; his sister-in-law, Linda (the late Jack) Tice; his stepsons, Kevin (Sherry) Miller and Mason (Kathy) Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at Greenview United Church, 111 S. Blaine St., Greenview. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.
