TWO HOOPSTERS IN HALL OF FAME Two of the most successful boys and girls basketball players in Hinsdale Central history have been announced as members of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association on Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Brian Wardle and Toni Kokenis will join the IBCA Hall of Fame in a May ceremony. MCCLEAR FINDS WINNING STROKE Hinsdale’s Mac McClear won the Illinois State Amateur in July, carding a 5-under-par score of 283 over four rounds at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette. McClear, a University of Iowa senior and two-time All-Big Ten honoree, avenged his loss in last year’s tournament in a three-way playoff. Miller sets state swim records Hinsdale’s Karina Miller set two new Illinois state records at the Age Group State Championships in July. Her times of 33.21 seconds in the 50-meter backstroke and 1:11.78 in the 100-meter backstroke were new marks for the 10 and under age level, both in the state and at the state meet.
