Monday's solar eclipse provided a perfect backdrop for students across Hinsdale. At the Hinsdale Middle School, they gathered on the athletic field to view the partial eclipse, whose path of totality extended through the southern part of the state. For the second year, students in fifth grade at Oak School hosted a free book fair for children at their sister school, Drexel Elementary in Cicero. More than 4,000 new and gently used books were collected. Each Drexel student received six books of their own choosing and the rest were kept by the teachers for their classrooms. The annual Easter egg hunt sponsored by Hinsdale's Parks and Recreation Department and The Community House was held Saturday in Robbins Park.
