Dog-owning users of Katherine Legge Memorial Park persuaded Hinsdale officials not to shift them to a smaller facility in the park. Hinsdale’s Katherine Legge Memorial Park may soon become home to the village’s first dedicated dog park. At a special parks and recreation commission meeting Sept. 14, commissioners heard a plan to create a 3.35-acre fenced area in the southwest corner of KLM for dogs and their owners. James Harlan Beatty, 85, a 54-year resident of Hinsdale, died April 27, 2021, at his home. He was born in 1936 in Chicago and raised in Kentland, Ind.
