OBITUARIES:  (published 7/1/10)

Marion Bohlander
   Marion Bohlander, a lifelong resident of Hinsdale, died June 25, 2010, at home.
   Ms. Bohlander, 93, was born June 1, 1917, in the family home on Monroe Street. She attended Hinsdale schools and graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1935. She worked for New York Life Insurance Co. in Chicago until she retired.
   She was an active volunteer in many local organizations, including the Union Church of Hinsdale and Meals on Wheels.
   She is survived by her nephews, Fred (Ramona) Bohlander and Dale Bohlander; her niece, Virginia (Douglas) Bohlander McLain; her grandnephew, Michael McLain; and her grandnieces, Dr. Susan (Jack) McLain MacMillan and Judy Marazas.
   A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. today, Thursday, July 1, at St. John’s Cemetery, 3724 N. Washington St., Oak Brook.
   A memorial service will follow at 10 a.m. at Union Church of Hinsdale, 137 S. Garfield Ave.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Church, 137 S. Garfield Ave., Hinsdale, IL 60521 or to a favorite charity.
   Arrangements were made by Gibbons Elliston Funeral Home in Hinsdale.

Howard James Currie
   Howard James Currie died June 21, 2010, at his Hinsdale home.
   Mr. Currie, 83, was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in Korea.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Margaret, nee Fudala.
   He is survived by his children, Christopher J. Currie, Joy (Rick) Elder and Corinne (Roger) Pardon; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
   Services and interment were private.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hinsdale Hospital Foundation, 15 Spinning Wheel Drive, Hinsdale, IL 60521 or Saint Thomas Hospice, 119 E. Ogden Ave., Suite 111, Hinsdale, IL 60521.

Marise Slonoff
   Marise Slonoff died June 25, 2010, at her home in Elk Grove Village.
   Mrs. Slonoff, 89, was born Nov. 24, 1910, in Maple Hill, Kan.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1999; her brothers, Ronald, Randall and Gary; and her sister, Betty.
   She is survived by her children, Jim (Ilene) Slonoff of Hinsdale, Scott (Carol) of Navoto, Calif., and Susan (Lee) Howard of Inverness; her grandchildren, J.R. (Stacy) Howard, Anne (fiancé Travis) Howard, Marise (Bill) Brennan, Michael and Matthew Slonoff; her sister, Edna (Bob) D’Ambrosio of Carmel, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
   Services were held Monday, June 28, at Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Interment was at St. Michael the Archangel in Palatine.
   Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
