Doing more than talking the talk
— The weather was perfect for 2016 Walk the Walk for Autism Sunday morning. The annual event sponsored by The Community House raised more than $90,000 to support programs and services provided by Charlie’s Gift Center for Autism and Related Disorders. The Walker Wildcats were the top fundraising team out of the 40 that participated. The top individual fundraiser was Noah Tomanovich. (Jim Slonoff photo)

Coach 'Maj' continues to inspire athletes

   Hinsdale Central varsity girls softball coach Lee Maciejewski reflected on how the landscape has changed over his four decades coaching high school sports.
   “When I first started, the boys had crew cuts. Then they went to long hair. Then they went to crew cuts,” Maciejewski said, pausing a moment.
   “And now they’re back to long hair!” he quipped, erupting in laughter.
